The free audio-visual program "Technology Access for All" and curriculum were created to help organizations and people with disabilities advocate for access to technology.
This presentation package explains what current policy is, what is lacking, and how Federal laws and regulations can help or hinder access to technology information, goods and services for people with disabilities. The training provides an overview of laws, regulations, and policies guaranteeing access to electronic and information technology for people with disabilities.
The program is designed to raise people's expectations about access to technology and it spells out how to advocate for that access. People with disabilities will better understand that accessible technology is one of their legal rights. The program also helps individuals and their families think about how technology can improve the lives of people with disabilities.
The package includes speaker's notes and script to allow individuals with a limited technology background to make a worthwhile and interesting presentation. The complete package contains a PowerPoint™ presentation, a script, speakers' notes, sample letters, meeting accessibility guidelines and resources on disability and technology. The program is available on CD-ROM, 35mm slide or transparencies.
WID collaborated in the design of the curricula with the Information Technology Technical Assistance and Training Center (ITTATC) at Georgia Tech.
