Making Diversity Work for You: Hiring and Retaining People with Disabilities
Employing People With Disabilities Makes Sense
The key to a successful business is finding and keeping good talent.
People with disabilities are an untapped talent pool, and are often an
excellent resource for creativity and problem solving skills. According
to the Employers’ Forum on Disability, employees with disabilities are
as productive and reliable as any other employees, and generally tend
to have better attendance records, stay with employers longer and have
fewer accidents at work. Cornell University also reports that 62% of
corporations chose providing disability awareness and ADA training
programs to their staff over other methods to improve the success of
their workers with disabilities.
